Have you ever taken a roller-coaster ride before? The intense anticipation before we hop on the roller-coaster is exhilarating isn't it? Even when we queue up to buy the tickets, the screams and shouts and laughters that zooms pass as the roller coaster takes those on board sends thrills, chills and excited heart beats through our bodies isn't it? Sometimes butterflies develops in our tummies!
The ride will be a most fruitful and 'Happening' one when we hop on, put on the safety belt and just let the roller-coaster start its journey of bringing us through the cork-screws and upside down thrusts!
But if we are always concern about so many things such as - Will my wallet and money fall out of my pocket? Will my shoes drop out and cannot be found?Will the safety belt disengage and I be flung far and become peanut butter splat? - Then we will never ever enjoy the ride. Isn't that true?
2008 came and is about to go. In this 2008 roller-coaster ride, have you enjoyed it or have you been worrying about so many small and trivial things of life? Have you been struggling with man or rather you have been wrestling with God? Have you got caught up with so many of life's entanglements such as the pride of life, lust of the eyes and flesh that you have miss the whole 'Happening', 'Fun' roller coaster ride that actually God wants you to experience and enjoy?
A glimpse of what God can do in & through POINT COMMUNITY was revealed on 20th December 2008 when approximately 50 youths gathered for a time of Fun, Games, Food, Worship and hearing of the Lord's Gospel. God moves in the most mysterious ways, beyond our comprehension and expectations. Amen? We prayed so hard. We planned so hard. We sent the invitations diligently. Hoping that out of the many - if not all but some would get to know our Lord Jesus and experience the joy we are experiencing now. But no one moved. No one indicated that they want to know Him - at least through our physical eyes - there wasn't a decision made.
God works in wonders - towards the end of the event, during refreshment time, News broke through:) TWO guys came forward and expressed their hearts that they want to know Christ! Hallelujah! Praise God!
The Bible says in Luke 15:7 that when one sinner repents, the whole heaven rejoices - oh boy! how much heavens rejoiced that night! My heart was pumping fast when I heard the news. My mind was excited when I heard people has entered into a relationship with Christ and enjoy the same joy I have. I will never forget that pumping heart feeling - And I know many of you understands how I feel:) I am so happy when someone is saved!
I believe that 2009 we can and will see mighty breakthroughs in our lives as well as in our family of God. Things will be made new. Lives will be transformed. It will be a exhilarating roller-coaster ride! If we lay hold, behold the heartbeat of Christ; if we seek to understand His heartbeat; if we seek ye first the Kingdom of God - all things will be added unto us! Amen? (Matthew 6:32-34)
2009 will be a year of EQUIPPING, CONNECTING & MOVING FORWARD! Its time to move on. Don't willow in your same-old same-old self. Rise up and lay hold of what God can accomplish through you!
